The heart of New England

PLC Armidale is situated on 17 hectares of stunning parkland and gardens. Our grounds represent the best that New England has to offer. The campus honours our rich heritage, while our Master Site Plan guides the continued investment into developing the College to ensure our girls have the resources they need to prepare for a life of significance.

Year 12 Study Centre

The Year 12 Study Centre is a separate purpose-built space on our Senior School campus, which is a dedicated area for Year 12 girls to use throughout the day. Each Year 12 student has their own study area in the building with access to a careers centre, senior classroom, common room and kitchen. This unique space facilitates a culture of study and engagement helping the girls focus on their final year of schooling.

Library Resource Centres

Two Library Resource Centres service the needs of the College, one in the Junior School and a larger library with seminar rooms in the Senior School. The Library Resource Centres provide a place for the girls to meet, read, collaborate, study, plan and enjoy. Boarders’ prep and study time takes place each evening in the Senior School Centre. Opening hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Hospitality Centre

Opened in 2010, the Hospitality Centre forms part of a Trade Training Facility allowing the girls to complete VET Courses in Hospitality. The Centre boasts a commercial kitchen with adjacent classroom, kitchen garden and outdoor entertaining space.

Sporting Facilities and Gymnasium

The Dorothy Knox Centre (DKC) is a multi-purpose facility designed to accommodate all indoor sporting needs for the College including Netball, Hockey, Basketball and Gymnastics. As a versatile space, it also provides a great venue for large school and community events.

The expansive grounds of the College also feature a 400m grass athletics track which is well used by the students, other schools and community groups for training, carnivals and sports. Six hard surface tennis courts located on the College grounds provide another recreational space used extensively, as well as professional tennis coaches for clinics and training.

Creative & Performing Arts

The Creative and Performing Arts are strong at PLC Armidale. With dedicated art, music and drama spaces in a purpose-built wing, a wide range of class based, and co-curricular opportunities are available to the girls in these disciplines. The Astra Arts Centre, incorporating the College Chapel, sits alongside the Dorothy Knox Centre and the Hospitality Centre, creating a flexible performance space which seats over 350 people comfortably. A large foyer area provides a suitable space for a variety of displays and College events.

The Health Care Centre

The Health Centre is open to students from 8:00am to 2:30pm each weekday and is operated by our friendly and professional College Nurse. The medical needs of students both Day and Boarding are met by a range of health care professionals in Armidale. Most staff of the College hold current First-Aid Certificates. The College Nurse can be contacted by phone 0448 277 166 or email the Health Centre

Some of our facilities are available for use by the community during weekends, school holiday periods, and at other times by negotiation for a fee.
